Chick Flick: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Interested in watching a ‘chick flick’ (aka movie for the ladies)? Well, check out “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2”. Yes, it is the second part/sequal but it is not hard to understand. Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel (she looks good :-) ) are the lead characters.
Based on Ann Brashares’ best-selling series of novels about four young women who share an unbreakable bond through the unpredictable events of their lives, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 catches up with Tibby (Amber Tamblyn of Joan Of Arcadia), Carmen (America Ferrera of Ugly Betty), Bridget (Blake Lively of Gossip Girl) and Lena (Alexis Bledel of The Gilmore Girls) in the months following their first year of college. Having been apart all year, their plans for the summer will take them even further along separate paths as each experiences the freedom, love, choices and challenging life lessons that mark their individual journeys toward adulthood. Now, it will take more than a hurried note or even a treasured pair of pants passed back and forth among them to keep their lives connected.
This week I saw a trailer/preview of this upcoming movie. I was happily surprised with the preview and will defitinely watch both parts.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 opens nationwide on over 2500 screens this August 6.
Dutch RnB group Sat-R-Day
Just going through my album collection and came across a called Sat-R-Day. I always enjoyed listening to them. A few years ago I was about to do an interview with them but something happened (have no idea what).
A few years ago a Dutch group called Sat-R-Day dropped their album “That’s How We’re Livin”. The album even featured US rapper Coolio (how they got him, I have no idea, lol).
Anyway, the album is fantastic! The band had some success in Germany and won a prize in their home country Netherlands. A pity the band stopped/split up so their discography remains at only a miserable one.
If you enjoyed American RnB groups like Guy, Blackstreet, etc… (genre: New Jack Swing) then check it out at Amazon.
Kwiet Storm Leaks
Today I read the following about the artist “Kwiet Storm” on the website of ‘Ice Water Entertainment’. I was searching for more information regarding Tori Lewis who soon will be featured on MusicRemedy :-). Read the following news-item (blog-post) about ‘record hijacking’ and the influence of internet.
Everybody’s trying to get their grind on in a effort to come up in the music game. With the ease and anonymity of digital uploading, you never know whether or not music tracks that you hear on the Internet are in fact song by the artists claiming the record or even produced by the Producer’s name represented.
Our production company had sent a track called “Road Trip” to the R&B group “Kwiet Storm” located here in Atlanta, GA. The track was written, produced and demoed by “Water” of Ice Water Entertainment/Pure Ice Productions. The group never got around to recording the record; however, the record has appeared on Internet sites such as imeem and other blogs. All of the sites list “Kwiet Storm” as the artist singing the song and the “Underdogs” as the Producers.
Of course, we heard “through the grapevine” that Kwiet Storm had nothing to do with the “leak”. Seems dubious given that only Kwiet Stom had access to the track!
A Party in my Tummy
Watch Chromeo appearing on a show called “Yo Gabba Gabba”, you have to check out the video clip of this show (see below). I want to go to the party!!It's a bird, a plane, no it's AKON!
Akon is mostly known for his hit-single “Ghetto” which is already a couple of years ago. In 2008 he is releasing gems every second. At the end of the year a new album is expected. He is also signing a lot of talented artists to his own record label. A couple of songs which are cool, catchy, poppy, etc…:
Michael Jackson - Hold My Hand featuring AKON (yes a new song by the King himself and finally it is kinda good :-) );
Double X - Saviour Tonight featuring AKON (very catchy song);
Akon - Sunny Day;
Akon - Shawty featuring Kaye Stylez;
Akon - Falling In Love featuring Ray L;
Akon - Everwhere I Go featuring Orlando Brown;
Akon - Could You Be The Reason;
Akon - Come Back 2 Me;
Akon - Clap Again.
